This is the finished abstract landscape watercolor painting. It is painted on 15 x 22 inches Arches cold press watercolor paper. More ink outline is drawn into the distance hills as I feel more texture is necessary to complete the overall feel of the painting. The ink outline was done using a permanent marker and I have been using the Ultra Fine Point Sharpie. I wonder if this is a good technique for stil life. When I do the outline after the water color wash has been lay down, I have to be careful not to over do it and also the flow and shape of the overall design. It is a good idea to do an area with the ink outline and place it on an art easel to view it for a period of time before you decide to do more. Once it is applied, there is no way to erase the permanent black lines.

Daily Watercolor – Abstract Landscape Painting- Watercolor and Ink
I continue with the abstract landscape painting using ink and watercolor paint. Shades are added as well as more outline to define shapes and texture. The different watercolor wash is applied with the light and shadow in mind. Most of the watercolor layers I put down one on top of each other is diluted straight from the watercolor paint tube to achieve a bright overall color. I think more detail should be added onto the painting and I will be working towards completeting the painting and try a larger one with this technique.
Daily watercolor – Landscape watercolor painting – Abstract landscape with ink outline
This watercolor painting started out with a sketch and some lines on the odd shape cold press watercolor paper. Watercolor paint is painted and then the black outline is done after the painting is completely dried. This is the first layer of watercolor wash on this abstract landscape painting. There are going to be more watercolor layers to be painted on later and more lines to be added. I have been using a Sharpie ultra fine point for the permanent black lines.
Daily watercolor painting – Jackson Pollock inspired study – Watercolor, Ink, Gouache painting
More color was added onto the watercolor study. This time blue gouache was diluted and painted on. The color of the gouache together with the watercolor underneath gives an illusion of distance and death to the painting. I will add more layers of color to experiment a variety of effect to this abstract painting technique. Lots of fun.
Daily Watercolor Painting – Jackson Pollock inspired study – Watercolor, Ink, Gouache abstract
For the daily watercolor paining on the Jackson Pollock inspired study, I have added permanent black ink and yellow gouache paint onto the watercolor surface. The permanent black ink was diluted with water before it was put on and later spread with a pointed metal palette knife. Some the lines are randomly added by dragging the palette alone the surface of the colod press watercolor paper before the ink is dry. Because it is a permanent opque black ink, it stays on top of the watercolor underneath. After the black ink is completely dried, yellow color gouache is being dripped on to the surface adding more intense color to the painting.
Daily Watercolor Painting – Jackson Pollock inspired study – Watercolor abstract
This is an exercise inspired by the famous American painter Jackson Pollock. He is an influential American painter and his life and work can be found in Wikipedia….https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson_Pollock I have started this Jackson Pollock exercise or study on a 15 x 20 inches cold press watercolor paper. The paper was put into a metal tray just large enough to hold the entire paper. Then watercolor from the tube is mixed with enough water and was dripped onto the watercolor paper randomly. Various color was put on before the other was dry to create a mix of color right on the paper. Jackson Pollock uses black ink and other paints for his painting and I like to start off mine with watercolor to create a light background before other solid or opaque color is used. Later on I might use gouache or acrylic depends on the effect I want to achieve. This is the first stage – watercolor stage – of the painting and there will be more to come before I finish this Jackson Pollock inspired study. It is lots of fun so far.
Daily watercolor painting – Abstract #2 – watercolor and black marker
I have completed the Abstract watercolor – High Tech. It is done on a 15 x 22 inches cold press watercolor paper. The black lines was done using a felt tip permanent marker and the color was put on layers using watercolor paint. I have finished the painting and have not sign it yet because I need to decide which way it shoud be hung. I like the way it looks being a vertical painting as shown but the Abstract watercolor looks good when it is view as a horizontal painting as well. Inside the watercolor painting, there is a computer monitor, keyboard, numerical keypad and mouse. It is lots of fun producing this abstract high tech watercolor painting.

Daily watercolor painting – Abstract watercolor
The above is an abstract outline on 15 x 22 inches cold press watercolor paper. It is going to be done in transparent watercolor and the lines are first drawn in with pencil and then with a perament black felt tip pen. I will give a hint of what the abstract is after I finished the painting in a few days. Watercolor and gouache might be used for this abstract watercolor painting. I like to experiment this line drawing with felt tip pen comparing with the ink resist techique I shown earlier because it gives a more define line which is more appropiate to this abstract subject.
